Colin Urwin, who is well known throughout Ireland for his bird of prey flying demonstrations, has established Glenarm Castle Falconry with the intention of developing a premier visitor attraction along side the already very successful Walled Garden.

Colin has many years experience with birds of prey, privately pursuing the sport of falconry and caring for wild injured raptors and, in a professional capacity with public demonstrations, corporate entertainment, historic re-enactment and television and film work including the training of owls for some of the Harry Potter films. © 2001, Warner Bros. All Rights Reserved Over the years Colin has aimed to promote the conservation of birds of prey and create an awareness of the threats posed to them through loss of habitat and persecution.  His spectacular shows are both exhilarating and educational with lots of information about the natural history and folklore surrounding these birds.

Ashley is a young student from Glenarm who has recently been recruited by Glenarm Castle Falconry and is proving to be an enthusiastic member of the team. Like some of the birds she is undergoing training and is playing an ever-increasing role in the shows. Her duties also include caring for some of the other new arrivals!
